Dev Vilas
Location
Sawai Madhopur, India
In wild tiger country very near the entrance to Ranthambore National Park, Dev Vilas is a simple yet comfortable hotel set within 3-1/2 acres of natural surroundings. Its location offers us the very best proximity to the park for our daily wildlife excursions. Built in late 19th-century Indo-Saracen style to resemble a traditional maharaja hunting lodge, Dev Vilas' spacious rooms are individually decorated in an array of colors and styles. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with stand alone shower and bathtub, air conditioning and cable television, and Internet is available. Fateh’s bar features tiger-themed paintings by artists from the Ranthambore School of Art. The informal dining room showcases lithographs by John J. Audubon and serves Indian and continental cuisine. Al fresco dining is available on the terrace by the pool. Situated in an eco-sensitive zone, the hotel's sustainable practices include using recycled water for non-consumable plantations on its property. The building has also been designed to harvest all rainwater and re-charge groundwater using a traditional storage system.
