Desert Hills Tented Camp — Sossusvlei
Location
Sossusvlei, Namibia
By day, this isolated ridge-top camp looks over craggy petrified sand dunes that erupt from the floor of the world’s largest desert. By night, it’s a haven of solitude under an infinite star-filled sky with only the Naukluft mountains to break the horizon. At all times, these breathtaking Namib Desert views reinforce the remoteness of the Desert Hills Tented Camp—an exclusive experience on private land that is accessible only by 4x4, with access to nearby Sossusvlei, the country's largest conservation area. Take in Namibia’s vast sand sea from the comfort of our intimate camp that is yours alone during your stay. Each of the 10 luxurious wood-framed canvas tents has a wide flysheet to protect from the desert heat and provide a shaded front porch with lounge chairs, plus the option to open your canvas panels in order to absorb the broad vistas while tucked under your bed’s plush duvet. During the day, your tent’s freestanding fans keep things cool and electricity keeps your batteries charged. Each en suite bathroom includes a shower, a pair of sinks beneath a broad mirror, generous closet space and a private toilet room. Gather for meals and community in the large dining tent and lounge, where the tone is decidedly stylish with cool white furnishings and bleached woods reminiscent of driftwood. This is where you’ll relax over gourmet dinners, full English breakfasts and a well-stocked bar in between. Share the day's adventures while you indulge in a refreshing dip at the pool or stargaze around the camp’s crackling fire pit at night.
