Casa San Blas
Location
Cusco, Peru
Located in the historic artist's quarter of San Blas, Casa San Blas opened in 2003 in a restored 18th-century colonial home to become the first boutique hotel in Cusco. Seeking to create a sense of 'home away from home' ambience, the inn combines warm decor, earthy tones and vintage colonial furnishings for exceptional comfort and intimacy. Elements of Peruvian culture have been integrated throughout, such as traditional hand-weavings on display in the hotel's 18 rooms and suites. Each room has its own Quechua name that is directly associated with the handmade textile displayed within it. Rooms also feature hand-carved rustic furniture, premium bedding with luxurious comforters, private bathrooms, bathrobes, hairdryers, hot water bottles, complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, premium cable TV, direct-dial telephones, and a daily turndown service. A balcony terrace on the third floor offers guests panoramic views of the city of Cusco, with its distinctive orange-tiled rooftops. Each morning, guests enjoy a full buffet breakfast in the Tika Bistro Gourmet restaurant on the premises.
