Capitan Suizo is an environmentally conscious boutique resort located directly on Playa Tamarindo, one of the loveliest beaches on Costa Rica's Guanacaste Coast. The resort is situated adjacent to Las Baulas Marine National Park, a globally important nesting site for giant leatherback sea turtles. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the hotel enjoys a tranquil setting less than a mile from all the conveniences of town. Capitan Suizo practices a philosophy of sustainability that includes the protection of native trees and natural areas on the property, as well as resident wildlife and birds.
The hotel offers accommodation in 22 rooms, seven individual deluxe bungalows and one 4-bedroom suite. All rooms are spacious with en suite bathrooms featuring a large shower, small refrigerator, coffee and tea facilities, direct-dial telephone, safe deposit box, radio and a large closet. Upper-level rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and excellent ventilation that takes advantage of steady ocean breezes, while lower-level rooms have air conditioning. Every room has a private balcony or terrace overlooking the gardens and facing the ocean.
On the hotel property, guests enjoy a suite of amenities including a large free-form swimming pool, full-service spa, fitness corner, board games, ping pong and volleyball. A host of other activities is available nearby. The hotel provides boogie boards for guests, and surfboards are available for rental.
