Sprawling Canyon Lodge is located on the east side of Yellowstone National Park near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. Extensively renovated in 2016 to be a trailblazer in sustainable national park lodging, the complex features five separate LEED-certified buildings incorporating extensive recycled or renewable materials and highly energy-efficient constructions. Canyon Lodge was named one of The New York Times' top five hotels for eco-conscious travelers. The lodge incorporates both updated and new construction to create a harmonious setting blending contemporary elements with traditional architectural details in a nod to the park's past. Heavy beams, standing log floor lamps, peeled pine beds, two-panel hardwood doors, and mullioned windows framed by pine shutters enhance the classic Old West atmosphere, in a variety of room configurations, all with private en suite bath. In keeping with the historic character of park accommodations, rooms do not include TV or air conditioning.
