Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge
Location
Purnululu National Park, Kimberley, Australia
The Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge is an idyllic bush camp on the banks of Piccaninny Creek located in Purnululu National Park, a World Heritage Site. With convenient access to the park’s iconic features like the Bungle Bungle Range, Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm, there is no Wi-Fi or cellular service, and lodge’s remote setting amid this rugged Outback landscape provides guests an opportunity to truly disconnect for an immersive off-the-grid experience.
Nature is the star attraction here, and open-air dining features three-course dinners surrounded by the wild Kimberley landscape. Come evening, grab a cold beverage from the full bar and pull up a chair to the firepit. Cloudless nights yield expansive starry skies for convivial stargazing with fellow travelers.
Spacious walk-in canvas tents feature wood floors and private verandas with chairs. Inside, find comfortable beds with crisp sheets, plump pillows and soft blankets. Solar-heated water ensures piping hot showers in the en suite bathrooms that are stocked with fresh towels and luxury bathing products.
The lodge’s water recycling system and reduction of fossil fuel consumption via solar/diesel hybrid energy systems, along with other sustainability initiatives, have earned it the country’s Advanced Ecotourism Certification.
