Amanzi
Location
Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia
Set along a quiet curve of the Zambezi River, this secluded lodge features a collection of elegant, tented suites that blend luxury with immersion in nature. The open-air lounge and dining area draw in the landscape—light filters through thatched eaves, and the breeze carries the scent of river reeds and wild jasmine. From the curved, rim-flow swimming pool, watch hippos wallow in the shallows and elephants graze along the opposite bank. The expansive deck, with deep canvas chairs and lanterns, creates a calm gathering space.
Suites are thoughtfully spaced along raised wooden walkways, offering privacy without disconnection. Inside, cool stone floors and natural textiles complement a king-size bed draped in gauze netting. Suites feature indoor and outdoor showers, and private verandas extend directly over the riverbank.
The daily changing menu highlights seasonal produce and traditional Zambian flavors, with dinners often served beside the river or the stars. Guests with dietary needs are easily accommodated, and many ingredients are sourced from nearby farms or community gardens.
The lodge is powered primarily by solar energy and was constructed using local, sustainably sourced materials. Water is filtered and treated on-site, single-use plastics are minimized, and community partnerships support education and conservation.
