Born in the heart of the Central Coast of New South Wales, just north of Sydney, Jacob's fascination with wildlife began at an early age. By age three, he was already eagerly sharing his knowledge of different species (including many dinosaur facts!) with anyone who would listen. As a teenager, he honed his passion, caring for animals at a local wildlife sanctuary and educating visitors about Australia's natural heritage, Indigenous cultures, bush food, medicine, flora and fauna. Jacob further solidified his commitment to nature by earning a bachelor's degree in biodiversity and conservation science from Macquarie University and a Certificate III in captive animal management. His extensive experience in the zoological field ranges from caring for native birds and reptiles to primates and marine mammals.
His pursuit of wilderness realms has led him on extensive travels through Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and beyond, with Malaysia and Namibia earning the title of his favorite destinations. In 2023, Jacob joined the Nat Hab team as an Expedition Leader in Australia. Combining his wealth of experience as a seasoned traveler with his dedication to nature, Jacob is passionate about sharing the marvels of the natural world with others.
Jacob's nomadic spirit currently finds him residing on the sunny Gold Coast. Yet, he seldom stays put, constantly drawn to new locales to explore nature and encounter rare species. An avid wildlife photographer and videographer, Jacob enjoys imparting these skills to others.
