“Francis is a gem. We loved him. He was unfailingly pleasant, helpful, courteous, respectful and he carried the junk: emergency medical kit, extra water, maps, etc. He gave us lots of tips on how to deal with the locals. He was very well-versed in the history of the area and seemed to have a rapport with many of the shop keepers, hotel people, restaurant people, etc all of which made the trip run smoothly. His English was excellent. He was fun too. He enjoyed our somewhat rowdy group and played along with us. (Imagine 6 women in their 50's and 60's, all but two of whom knew each other before, travelling together -- we got along like we've known each other for years and had lots of fun. I think Francis enjoyed us too.) We all played well off each other. Francis is the best guide I've ever had on a trip. I hope you pay him well --- he deserves it! Daniel was an excellent guide in the Amazon. He was so enthusiastic about the place. He told us he grew up there and his love for the land and the people was infectious. Each day was a new and sometimes thrilling experience. Machu Picchu is, of course, breathtaking. I loved the little town at the base of the site. Cusco was wonderful - colorful and lively. The Amazon was just spectacular. What's not to like? You do a wonderful job at NatHab!!“
