Born and raised in Maun, Botswana, Tebla’s love for the bush developed from a young age while accompanying his grandfather on trips through the delta. After obtaining a degree in finance, Telba soon realized a job in accounting wasn’t for him. He pivoted to pursue his earlier passion, taking a professional guiding course with the Botswana Wildlife Training Institute. It didn’t take long for Tebla to find his feet in his new “office”—his career in guiding has included some of Botswana’s most prestigious wildernesses areas and lodges, including Linyanti, Chitabe, Mombo, Vumbura, Abu, Khwai Private Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe National Park, Makgadikgadi Pans and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. While working at Vumbura, Tebla met Ruth, an English chef, who was also on her own adventure in the wild. Like-minded with their passions for travel and the African bush, love blossomed, and they now call Maun home.
Throughout his career, Tebla has developed a keen interest in wildlife photography. He loves sharing this passion, confidently assisting guests with their photography and helping them achieve the perfect shot! Moreover, Tebla commits some of his time as a freelance trainer with the African Guide Academy, where he teaches the core skills of nature guiding and conservation. He recently led a training at Chobe Game Lodge with Africa's first all-female guide team.
