Nora, a native of a quaint town in Germany, spent her childhood immersed in horseback riding, camping and exploring local forests. During her teenage years, she embraced travel, guiding youth groups across Europe and journeying through Africa and Asia with friends. Inspired by her love for global exploration and languages, Nora studied business and tourism management in Germany. Life, however, had other plans. A one-year stay in New Zealand extended to four years. Nora transitioned from the tourism industry to zookeeping and conservation education—fields in which she continues to thrive today. Her journey led her to Australia, where she cultivated a profound appreciation for Australian flora and fauna while working as a zookeeper and wildlife educator in Sydney and rural New South Wales.
Now residing in Southeast Queensland, Nora uses her spare time to explore the magnificent Australian continent above and below water. She harbors a special interest in marine megafauna, reptiles, and, unexpectedly, bears. Lady Elliot Island in the Southern Great Barrier Reef and Tasmania rank high among Nora's favorite travel destinations. Joining Nat Hab as an Australia Expedition Leader in 2023, she is passionate about sharing these extraordinary locations with travelers.
