Nikki grew up in Sydney, Australia. From a young age, she was often found camping, chasing critters and exploring the outdoors. As a young adult, she was fortunate to be able to travel, fostering a love of the natural world, rock climbing, ice climbing and photography. Her fascination with wildlife led her to study conservation biology at the University of New South Wales. In 2020, Nikki received First Class Honors for her study investigating the effect of grazing on the predation of ground-nesting birds. Energized by being in nature, Nikki continued to focus on field research while also working in her university lab as a research assistant. She looked at the impacts of dingoes on the biodiversity of Australian desert landscapes and surveyed reptile biodiversity in New South Wales after the extensive bushfires of 2019-2020. Outside of her academic career, Nikki has worked in outdoor retail and knows a thing or two about getting you geared up for any adventure. She is an avid rock climber and was as an outdoor guide for her local Sydney climbing group. She has rock- climbed in Australia, the U.S., Canada and Scotland, trekked in India, and ice-climbed in New Zealand and Montana.
Nikki's love of sharing the outdoors in a safe, engaging and ecologically focused way inspired Nikki to join the team at Natural Habitat Adventures as an Expedition Leader in North America and Australia.
Together, Natural Habitat Adventures and World Wildlife Fund have teamed up to arrange nearly 100 nature travel experiences around the planet, while helping to protect the magnificent places we visit and their wild inhabitants.
