Physical Requirements
Easy
This excursion does not require a high degree of physical fitness. In order to participate, travelers should be able to walk at least 1 mile unassisted over dirt, gravel, boardwalk and paved walkways and stairs. For travelers who would like to climb the ruins, please keep in mind that the steps are large, uneven and very steep and can be slippery, depending on weather conditions. Those who wish to climb the ruins will need to be in good physical condition with no fear of heights. Travelers should be aware that the heat and humidity may be very high and we will be exposed to the full intensity of the sun while exploring the ruins.
Important Information About This Trip
Guests on this extra-day program will either need to arrive one day prior to the start of their regularly scheduled adventure, or stay one day later (ask your Adventure Specialist for schedule details based on your departure date). For those guests booked on a Monarchs departure for which this excursion is offered as a pre-trip option, our representative meets you at the airport on arrival and transfers you to our hotel. For those guests booked on a Monarchs departure for which this excursion is offered as a post-trip option, our private guide meets Nat Hab guests in the lobby of the hotel just after breakfast on the final day of your Monarchs adventure.
Mandatory Insurance
Since the areas we travel to are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require that all guests have, at minimum, medical evacuation insurance for this program. This is for the safety of all guests. We require that your chosen independent insurance plan includes at least $250,000 in medical evacuation coverage.
To protect your investment and to provide peace of mind while you travel, we also strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. Plans may cover everything from medical treatment to trip cancellations and delays and lost luggage. Please contact our office if you would like more information about the medical evacuation and comprehensive travel insurance policies we offer by calling 800-543-8917.
