"Costa Rica itself and the incredible ecosystem with all the birds, flora and other creatures, was the highlight. We enjoyed the ability of the guide to spot and identify so many of the bird species at a glance. We saw 127 different species of birds alone!! The food was so delicious and the people were so nice...the environments were so lovely. We loved staying in the local lodges. It helps to complete the creation of the atmosphere you are in. Tortuguero is so remote and being in your own cabin with almost no one or nothing visible except jungle when you look out of the windows is so great. The sounds were fantastic. The hotel in Monteverde is so beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable. Arenal Observatory Lodge is so close to the volcano and has such beautiful grounds and walks. The staff in all the places were wonderful."

"I enjoyed most the variety of locations experienced by the trip. We covered a lot of ground, stayed very busy, and experienced a lot of wonderful things, all without feeling rushed or exhausted. The pace and variety were just right. I also cannot say enough good things about our guide. His knowledge of the flora and fauna of Costa Rica is nothing short of encyclopedic. He did a wonderful job of weaving in just the right amount of cultural experiences; our meals provided by individuals or small typical restaurants were wonderful and memorable. And in addition to his deep scientific knowledge, he had the ability to relate extremely well to the people in his group. This was my first Natural Habitat trip. I plan to take more, largely due to my positive impression of the guide provided on this trip."
