Earlier this month, Travel + Leisure announced its 2015 World’s Best Awards, which ranks everything from airlines and cruise lines to cities and hotels, all based on survey responses from readers.
Four African properties made the list of top 100 hotels. While we freely admit that our opinion is fairly biased, four seems like an absurdly low number given the sheer number of truly amazing safari camps and lodges scattered across the continent. But without further adieu, here are this year’s honorees.
#7 Singita Sabi Sand (Singita Sabi Sand is actually a private game reserve and not a hotel or safari camp. There are three camps within the reserve: Singita Ebony Lodge, Singita Boulders Lodge, and Singita Castleton)
#25 Saxon Hotel, Villas, and Spa (Johannesburg)
#34 The Cape Grace (Cape Town)
#59 Singita Kruger National Parker (Singita Kruger is also a private reserve with two safari lodges: Singita Sweni and Singita Lebombo
Cape Town took the ninth spot on the list of best cities worldwide. You can see T + L’s full list of world’s best hotels here.
