Lois and I had a marvelous time on this trip. And as is our usual practice, Lois wrote a journal of our experiences and published my photos on the Internet so we could share memories of the trip with our friends, family and fellow participants.
Here on the edge of Hudson Bay is a wildlife sanctuary for bird life, beluga whales and the great polar bear.
We spent two days in Winnipeg playing tourists in what turned out to be a vibrant, beautiful, cultural, photographically intriguing city. The city sits at the confluence of the Red River and the Assiniboine River at a point called The Forks. Well worth a visit.
We boarded a train for Churchill but had to disembark at Thompson, as the rail line between Thompson and Churchill had been washed away by record flooding just weeks before. Had time for a visit at Pisew Falls.
The last leg of our Natural Habitat Adventures’ 12- day trip to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada to see the white beluga whales gather a the mouth of the Churchill River for calving. Here on the edge of Hudson Bay is a wildlife sanctuary for bird life, beluga whales, and the great Polar Bear.
