HAPPY NEW YEAR!

WWFDid you know 2011 is World Wildlife Fund‘s 50th Anniversary? Natural Habitat Adventures will be doing a lot this year to help WWF celebrate! To kick things off this month, Nat Hab is donating $1 for each new “friend” who “likes” our Facebook page between now and January 31st!  So, be sure you have joined our friend network by clicking “Like” on our Facebook page, and invite all your friends to do likewise!  (Maximum donation is $2,500.)

WWF got its start a half-century ago when a small group of concerned scientists, naturalists, and business and political leaders joined together to save the Earth’s wildlife from extinction. The organization they founded—World Wildlife Fund (WWF)—has since grown into the world’s most trusted and longest-running conservation organization.

WWF  works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. WWF’s unique way of working combines global reach with a foundation in science, involves action at every level from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the needs of both people and nature. WWF works to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems by

  • protecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species;
  • promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources; and
  • promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution.

WWF is committed to reversing the degradation of our planet’s natural environment and to building a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature.

And did you know, too, that Nat Hab is WWF’s select Conservation Travel Provider?  That’s right — when the planet’s premier conservation organization wants to share the natural world with its supporters, they turn to us to provide amazing nature trips. Like WWF, Nat Hab is committed to traveling responsibly in the natural world, revealing its wonders to visitors while at the same time limiting our ecological footprint  and working in tandem with local communities to support human needs.

We hope you’ll join us in honoring 50 years of World Wildlife Fund’s contributions to conservation.  Look up Natural Habitat Adventures on Facebook now, and simply click “Like”!
