Traveler Testimonials
"Bhutan was very special and, frankly, a surprise in many ways. I greatly enjoyed the slower pace of life there, the people we met, the beautiful scenery everywhere we went, and the hospitality we received. I realize that we saw only a very small part of the country but what we saw and experienced was exceptional. But we also enjoyed the unique experiences that were provided to us in both countries--elephant washing in Chitwan, local restaurant experiences in both countries, including us dressing in native attire for dinner in Thimphu at the Taj, the special private dinner our last night in Bhutan, the raising of a prayer flag for us on a hill overlooking the city of Thimphu, and more... All of the hotels we stayed in were outstanding and far exceeded our expectations. The extremely high quality of our Expedition Leader, Payal, and the local guides in each place--Ramesh in Kathmandu, Ramal in Chitwan, and Dorji in Bhutan--was especially appreciated. They were smart and deeply knowledgeable, easy to get along with, most accommodating in every way, and good communicators. Payal was superb in every way. I cannot express sufficiently in words our enormous satisfaction."

"Our accommodations were delightful and exceeded my expectations. Each was unique and special in its own way. The food was excellent and quite a variety was offered. Our guides Harsha and Payal were both so amazing! They were acutely aware at all times of each person's needs, desires, health, and safety. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and eager to share their passion. They would even come get me in my room when a special bird presented itself. They executed their duties with warmth and a wonderful sense of humor and were absolutely delightful to travel with. Both of them contributed immensely to my enjoyment of the trip. Thank you for another excellent adventure. Can't wait for my next Nat Hab trip!"

"First, let me say that the trip exceeded our expectations. Payal is one of the best guides I've ever had. She added several interesting experiences to the already intriguing itinerary. The local guides, Rameesh, Kamal and Dorgi were all excellent and were delightful to be around. We were pleasantly surprised at the high caliber of the service at all the hotels and the remarkable beauty of the facilities."

"We thought that both Dev and Harsha were the absolute best that they could be. They were always fun and helpful, making the trip perfect. We especially enjoyed their frankness in talking about life and conditions and adventures in India, Nepal and Bhutan. They were very personable and we loved them."

"The reason I booked this trip is because some years ago I saw a picture of the Tiger's Nest and told myself I wanted to see it and it didn't disappoint. It was hard to stop looking at it and taking pictures from every angle I could. I looked at other companies that only went to Bhutan and considered them. When I saw this also went to Nepal, I thought when I might be back to this area and thought I should see both while I was in the region, so having both places together as opposed to only Bhutan is the reason I chose this over others that were less expensive. The wildlife in Nepal was another highlight and the safaris were great. I can't say there was anything I enjoyed least. I really enjoyed everything! And I really can't say enough good things about both Harsha and Payal. They met and exceeded all categories. There were also a couple of days when I did not feel well and they were always checking in and seeing how I was or even calling my room when I didn't show up for a meal. They both were extremely knowledgeable and readily shared their knowledge and expertise in addition to simply being nice people to be around."

"Payal was phenomenal--she knew most everything about the ecology of the area, and if she didn't know she was quick to look up information that evening and inform travelers the next day. She was also phenomenal at birding! She is a great asset to NHA. All our accommodations were fantastic and comfortable. The safaris in Chitwan were phenomenal--the staff was well-prepared each day with the proper equipment and helped travelers prepare accordingly, and we were mesmerized by the rhinos, baby rhinos, plethora of birds and anticipation of a tiger sighting."

“It’s always the leader who can make the trip fabulous, regardless of other factors. Toby did that. Funny, knowledgeable, concerned, professional–he had it all. And, when I indicated my interest in photography, he paid extra attention and made the effort to seek me out and show me specific technical and artistic things. Very much appreciated.”

Payal was an excellent Expedition Leader and all of the travelers were happy to have her on this adventure. I can't imagine this experience without her. She was incredibly thoughtful, caring and professional. And the wildlife viewing in Chitwan was remarkable. I feel very lucky to have had this experience."

"Both Harsha and Payal were wonderful leaders. Easy to be with, fun, knowledgeable, involved in our interests and passionate about what we were seeing. I celebrated my birthday on the trip and Harsha and my husband planned the best and biggest birthday surprise of my life with elephants greeting me in Chitwan. I loved the safaris and washing the elephants in Chitwan, hanging prayer flags in the hills above Thimphu (I was surprised at how meaningful that felt to me), and, of course, hiking to Tiger's Nest."
