Odyssey Lodge
Homer, Alaska
Opened in summer 2024, this luxury retreat, accessible only via a four-mile boat ride from Homer Harbor, blends into its wild surroundings. Built of wood, steel and concrete, this remote sanctuary overlooks Kachemak Bay and China Poot Bay and features well-maintained trails past wild berry bushes that lead to pebble beaches, where guests may search for marine life like whales and sea otters, marvel at snow-capped peaks or explore at low tide. Birdlife abounds in the surrounding lush forests; woodland creatures chatter and bears live nearby. Observe it all from outdoor decks or through the enormous windows in shared areas and all guest suites.
The lodge’s common spaces feature an indoor rec center with a workout room, spa, jacuzzi and sauna. Relax on comfortable coaches in the rustic lounge and enjoy fresh seafood and other gourmet offerings, and a full bar in the on-site restaurant that’s already become a favorite among Homer locals.
The lodge features two types of private and modern accommodations, to which we have exclusive access during our stay. Bay View Cabins offer a more traditional cabin experience with large windows, exterior deck, queen bed, en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, and a cozy sitting area. The Treetop Suites provide a more secluded stay among the trees and feature a private bedroom and separate living room and bathroom. Treetop Suites are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee machine, bathrobe and slippers—ideal for enjoying the birds and other wildlife on the private deck.
