Nat Hab’s Private Mobile Camp—Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania
Optimally located on the edge of the crater rim, our private mobile camp offers exceptional proximity to the crater floor. Via a less-traveled access road, we gain a quick entry into the crater, beating crowds to maximize prime wildlife-viewing time in the early morning. This exclusive camp, while simple, affords unusual intimacy and seclusion in the Ngorogoro Crater area. Most visitors stay well away from us at larger commercial lodges while we enjoy total privacy amid the lush acacia forest on the crater rim. Classic canvas tents are appointed with iron beds, rugs, luggage stand, hanging rack, wash basin, plush towels, and handcrafted baskets for decor accents. In addition to a bedroom and dressing area, each tent has a veranda with two campaign chairs, and a separate shower and toilet. The bathrooms are all “open air” so as to heighten the experience of living as one with your surroundings—yet privacy is assured due to the clever design of the tents. As an added convenience, each tent has enough power for lighting as well as for charging mobile devices including phones, cameras and laptops. The camp is tended by a crew of private butlers, chefs and personal tent attendants, on hand to address your every need. A lounge tent offers comfortable seating with textiles in taupe, khaki and bold orange, and hanging lamps to illuminate the space for reading or conversation. Dinners are served on white linen with fine ceramic dinnerware, and a campfire invites you to gather under the stars as the evening winds down.
