Moremi Crossing is a new tented camp built on a palm-fringed island surrounded by the Moremi Game Reserve's wildlife-rich seasonal floodplains. Overlooking Chief's Island, Moremi Crossing combines luxury with simplicity. It is also a 100% eco-friendly development, leading the way in making safari tourism in the Okavango Delta as environmentally friendly as possible. The camp features the latest in solar and waste disposal technology and runs off a massive solar panel that powers the entire complex. Hot water is supplied through a state-of-the-art solar-heated geyser system that delivers hot water to each room.
Accommodations are in 16 spacious en suite tents built on raised decks, each with its own veranda. The tents have large screened windows with canvas covers that roll down for privacy. Each tent has two comfortable beds with full bedding, and a bathroom with roomy shower and basin with hot and cold running water. The main building consists of a large open-plan deck with a spectacular view over the Boro River onto Chief's Island. This crescent-shaped area is built on different levels to enhance the feeling of space. The dining room, bar and lounge are sheltered beneath a large thatched roof that hugs the tree line, allowing the complex to blend in naturally with the environment. Various small private lounge areas have been created to offer comfort, space and privacy. Along the tree line is a pleasant shaded deck area that leads to the pool. The camp also has a curio shop where guests may pick up local mementos.
