Hidden Valley Inn
Cayo District, Belize
Hidden Valley Inn is an intimate eco-resort set with a 7,300-acre private nature reserve in the Maya Mountains, offering surprising luxury in perfect harmony with its natural environs. Each of the 11 private cottages enjoys an entry graced with hanging orchids, fireplace with a pail of firewood to take the chill off the mountain air, handcrafted mahogany and leather furnishings, terra cotta tile floors, private full bath and shower, writing desk, closets, in-room safe, direct-dial telephones and wireless Internet. Additional amenities include plush luxury bedding, bath towels, and terry-cloth robes.
The cottages are situated around the lodge, once the main house of the Hidden Valley estate. The lodge boasts fireplace lounges and a handsome bar that opens onto the swimming pool's stone terrace and surrounding gardens bright with orchids, lilies and bromeliads. At night, enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi under Belize's starry skies, or cozy up in the library with a book after dinner. The inn's restaurant is an epicurean delight reserved for guests only, featuring candlelight dinners that combine authentic Mayan and Mesito flavors in a fusion of fresh local ingredients. Ingredients are grown in Hidden Valley's gardens or brought in daily from local fruit and vegetable markets nearby. Breads and sweets are made daily in the kitchen and pair well with Hidden Valley coffee—grown, roasted and ground on the property.
With 90 miles of nature trails and abundant wildlife just outside the door, Hidden Valley Inn sets a unique standard for luxury in the tropical wilderness of Belize.
