This departure is timed to explore Glacier National Park during wildflower season. There are few sights more beautiful than an avalanche slope or alpine meadow splashed with bright color against the backdrop of Glacier's towering peaks. Nearly a thousand species of wildflowers are found within the park, including cream-colored beargrass, magenta fireweed and fields of yellow glacier lilies that carpet the subalpine landscape during the brief growing season of high summer. Clematis, bunchberry and Indian pipes are common at lower elevations, while the fragile alpine zone features hardy plants like Indian paintbrush, monkeyflowers, moss campion, alpine daisies and more.
