While Namibia gets very little precipitation, chances of rain are highest between January and April. During the green summer season, temperatures can get quite high during the day but remain cool at night. In years when Namibia receives exceptionally high rainfall, the desert is transformed into a verdant carpet, challenging the very notion of what constitutes a desert landscape. Wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park and surrounding areas is still very good.
